Rawalpindi - January 25, 2010:
1. South Waziristan - Operation Rah-e-Nijat. Details of the operations of last 24 hours are as follows:-
a. Jandola Sector.
(1) Terrorists fired rockets on security forces near Janata which was effectively responded.
(2) Security forces cleared area Biland Khel, Manza Sar near Biland Khel and recovered cache of arms and ammunition.
b. Shakai Sector
(1) Security forces cleared Khundi Kille, Manzai Chund Khel near Karama, Whucha Pakai, Khanna Panga, Mamit Khel near Nanu and Gurgurai Zafar. 2 suspects were apprehended and recovered cache of arms ammunition.
(2) Terrorists fired rockets at Pungai Post near Ladha, which was effectively responded.
c. Razmak Sector.
(1) Terrorists fired mortar bombs on security forces at Miran Shah Camp, which was effectively responded.
(2) Area domination / linkup was carried out by security forces on area around Qalandar.
2. Swat – Malakand – Operation Rah-e-Rast.
a. Security forces conducted search and clearance operation at Pia near Madyan, Takhtaband near Mingora, Manglour, Maniari and apprehended 4 suspected terrorists.
b. Security forces conducted search and clearance operation at Sund Derai near Fazagat and killed 1 terrorist.
3. Relief Activities. 30,585 Cash Cards have been issued to displaced families of Waziristan.
