Lieutenant Colonel Shabbir Haider Rizvi (Late) Polo Cup commenced in Rawalpindi Polo Club. On the first day two matches were played. In first match Pakistan Air Force Team defeated President Body Guards (Red) with a margin of one goal. In second match President Body Guard took over from Army Services Corps (Blue) with a margin of one and half goal.

Tournament is organized each year to commemorate the services of Lieutenant Colonel Shabbir Haider Rizvi (Late), who died in the ground while playing Polo, on 6th March 1999, as team Captain of Army Services Corps Polo Team. In order to acknowledge the outstanding services of Late Colonel towards polo in Pakistan, Army Services Corps organizes this tournament regularly, which is widely participated by a number of Polo Teams from all over the country. The final match will be played on 18 October 2008.
