Disallowing the transportation of CAN and other such fertilizers to be moved in FATA and Balochistan.
Fertilizer control regime introduced and implemented by the FATA Secretariat.
Increased number of troops on border outposts to minimize possibility of cross-border smuggling of CAN.

Rawalpindi - March 8, 2011:

Lieutenant General Antonio Gucciardino, Director General of Land Armaments, Italy called on General Khalid Shameem Wynne, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) at Joint Staff Headquarters, Chaklala and discussed matters related to evolving security situation of the region and defence cooperation between the Armed Forces of both the Countries.
H.E. Mr. Chihiro Atsumi, Ambassador of Japan also called on General Khalid Shameem Wynne CJCSC and discussed matters of mutual interest.
