Rawalpindi - March 14, 2011: 

The 66th Formation Commanders’ Conference chaired by General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), commenced at General Headquarters today. The Conference is a part of regular meetings and is being attended by Corps Commanders, Principal Staff Officers and Formation Commanders.

The forum was given comprehensive briefings on security environment and professional matters. The participants expressed satisfaction over operational preparedness of the Army.  

In his address, COAS appreciated the conduct of stability operations in Federally Administered Tribal Areas to bring normalcy and peace. He lauded the progress made in social development of affected areas through the Quick Impact Projects, being completed under Army’s supervision. COAS also expressed satisfaction at various measures to improve training and operational readiness of the Army.
