Rawalpindi - January 26, 2012: 

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani visited Abbotabad today, in connection with Commanding Officers' Conference of the Frontier Force Regiment.
The Commanding Officers' Conference is a formal event for interaction between unit commanders and senior officers. It is aimed at professional and administrative improvement within units of a particular regiment with special emphasis on issues affecting the soldiers. Talking on the occasion, the COAS appreciated the efforts of the Regiment in fighting militancy and the commitment and valour of its officers and soldiers.
Earlier on arrival, the COAS was received by Lieutenant General Alam Khattak and other senior officers.

The 29th Medal Distribution ceremony of the Army Medical College was held today at Army Medical College Rawalpindi. Lieutenant General Azhar Rashid, Surgeon General/ Director General Medical Services (Inter Services) of Pakistan Army, awarded Medals and Distinction Certificates to the graduates of 30th MBBS and 9th BDS Courses.
Army Medical College is an elite medical institute of the country comprising qualified and experienced faculty. It was established in 1977 and was affiliated with Quaid-I-Azam University.
Army Medical College was recognized by General Medical Council, UK in 1982.
Every year nearly 200 cadets of Medical and Dental disciplines graduate from this College. Students achieving distinction are awarded Medals and Certificates in a ceremony coupled with the College Convocation.
