Rawalpindi - January 31, 2012: 

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani visited Bahawalpur Cantt and Khairpur Tamianwali, today, to witness formation level training exercises.
The exercises included training for conventional operations in the desert terrain, involving mechanized forces and PAF. Training for conduct of operations against militancy was also part of these exercises. COAS appreciated the high standard of training displayed by participating troops. He underscored the significance of operational preparedness against the entire threat spectrum.
Earlier on arrival, COAS was received by Lieutenant General Muhammad Haroon Aslam, Commander Bahawalpur Corps.
