Pakistan’s Counter-IED Organization established to formulate policies and ensure implementation.
Tight control over explosive, detonators and others IEDs-related material by the Ministry of Industry.
Banning the export of Calcium Ammonium Nitrate (CAN) and other chemical based fertilizers with issuance of NOCs to authorized dealers only.
Disallowing the transportation of CAN and other such fertilizers to be moved in FATA and Balochistan.
Fertilizer control regime introduced and implemented by the FATA Secretariat.

Rawalpindi - March 15, 2012:

The Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Meeting (JCSC) was held here at the Joint Staff Headquarters. General Khalid Shameem Wynne, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee presided over the meeting which was attended by Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila, Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman, Secretary Defence, Director General Joint Staff, Director General Inter Services Intelligence, Director General Strategic Plans Division and senior military officers from the three services.

JCSC is the highest defence forum. It is held on quarterly basis to dilate upon the complete security matrix. The forum during the current meeting reviewed the prevailing national and regional security environment and the challenges faced there in. Situation on borders was discussed threadbare and all the participants expressed satisfaction over the operational preparedness and the morale of the Armed Forces.

Air Chief Marshal, Rao Qamar Suleman paid a visit to General Khalid Shameem Wynne, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) here at joint staff headquarters for a farewell call. Chairman appreciated the services rendered by Chief of Air Staff, specially his efforts in cementing inter services harmony and cooperation, which was amply displayed during the on going operations.
