Rawalpindi - April 22, 2008:
Third all Pakistan Declamation Contest 2008 was held in College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Rawalpindi from 18 – 20 April 2008. 31 teams from all over Pakistan participated in this event. 5 teams fought their way to the final round. The final day of the competition began with the welcome address of Head of Literary Society "Buraq". Dr Saeeda Asad Ullah, Vice Chancellor of the Fatima Jinnah University was the chief guest on the occasion.
Teams of King Edward Medical College, Pakistan Naval Engineering College, Military College of Signals, Punjab University and Agriculture University Peshawar reached the final round. The team event was won by Punjab University and the runners up was K.E Medical College.
Kamran Taj (COMSATS) won the best individual Urdu speaker’s award and Kamran Khan of Government College University Lahore won the best individual English speaker award.
Commandant College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Major General Najeeb Tariq thanked all the participants for their interest and participation in the event. He congratulated the winners for their excellent performance and commended the overall standard of speeches. Dr Saeeda Asad Ullah gave away prizes to the winners and appreciated the standards of speeches.
