A delegation lead by Mr Hon Alan Johnson MP, Secretary of State for Home Affairs and Mr Hon Bob Ainsworth MP, Secretary of State for Defence, United Kingdom called on the Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani today at General Headquarters.

The visiting dignitaries remained with the Chief of Army Staff for some time and discussed matters of mutual interest.

Rawalpindi - October 6, 2009:

Update Operation (Rah e Rast) 6th October 2009

1. Search and clearance operations are continuing in Swat and Malakand.

2. Swat

a. Security forces conducted search operation at Taghan and Maira and apprehended 10

suspected terrorists.

b. 8 terrorists voluntarily surrendered to security forces at Barshaur, Biha and Chuprial.

c. During search and clearance operation at Banjir Banda, security forces recovered 21

communication sets.

3. Dir. A local commander of TNSM Badshah Zeb Alias Gorkai Mullah voluntarily surrendered to security forces at Ushari Darra.

4. Waziristan. Terrorists fired 3 mortar rounds and 4 rockets at Kabutar Check Post. Resultantly, 2 soldiers got injured.
