FC Balochistan conducted an important  IBO near Alandur, Abdul Rehman village, Turbat  on  presence of terrorists. As soon the troops cordoned suspected area terrorists opened fire. During exchange of fire terrorist  Younas Taukali identified as  one of top 8 BLF commander was killed 20 kms west of Bulada, 25 kms North of incident site from where 15 dead bodied were recovered.  Terrorist Younas was involved in killing 15 innocent people belonging to Punjab  on Nov 15 .  He was also  involved in laying IEDs ambushing FC convoys and killing many civilians including

A group of 250 students and faculty members  of  Institute of Business Administration Sukkur, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khair Pur and Degree College Pano Aqil spent day with Army at Panu Aqil Garrison. The visit was aimed at letting students know about routine functioning of Pakistan Army formation and its capabilities.

The students  witnessed arms and equipment display, small arms firing at ranges and a demonstration on action by Quick Reaction Force.

The students applauded the state of morale, commitment and professional competence of the formation and expressed their gratitude for being provided a life time experience and opportunity.

17 November 2017: Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa visited Awaran district. Besides reviewing operational aspects, he also visited newly renovated Govt Girls High School, Gajjar, which was destroyed due to earth quake and met with students and faculty. Commander urged the students to acquire quality education and professional skills. Pakistan Army has provided furniture, 2 school vans, established Physics, Chemistry and Biology labs and re-built 2 primary schools on to provide quality education facility.

Army has also self established a mini market, Vocational training Centre and has donated an ambulance, complete medical equipment and medicines for the Rural Health Centre.

General Joseph L. Votel Commander United States Central Command (US CENTCOM) called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) today.

Discussion focused on regional security situation/ Afghanistan, Pak-Afghan border management and Pakistan’s positive contributions towards peace and stability in the region. COAS said that peace in Afghanistan is more important for Pakistan than any other country, also reiterated that Pakistan has done its best despite constraints and shall continue efforts for the sake of it’s future, in line with aspirations of Pakistani people. However, the same was not being reciprocated as evident from the continued attacks from across the border.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) visited Strike Corps at Mangla. COAS Witnessed ongoing training and addressed officers and troops.

While interacting with Mangla Corps troops, COAS appreciated state of high morale and standard of training. He said that despite our commitments on western border and internal security duties we cannot remain oblivious of perpetual conventional threat which demands high standards of training and operational readiness.

Talking about challenges being faced by Pakistan, COAS quoting founder of the nation Quaid-e- Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah said that no power can undo Pakistan and for this purpose nation and its state institutions shall continue to cohesively perform in best interest of the country. “We have come a long way in responding to the challenges and InshAllah Pakistan is bound to rise. The only thing needed is to stay steadfast and remain united as a nation” COAS emphasised”.

First Sea Lord & Chief of the Naval Staff Royal Navy UK, Admiral Sir Philip Jones KCB ADC is on an official visit to Pakistan on the invitation of Chief of the Naval Staff.

Upon arrival at Naval Headquarters, First Sea Lord & Chief of the Naval Staff Royal Navy UK was received by Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi. A smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Navy clad in ceremonial dress presented him Guard of Honour. The visiting dignitary was then introduced to Principal Staff Officers.

Later, Admiral Sir Philip Jones KCB ADC, called on Chief of the Naval Staff in his office, where he held discussion on professional matters. Various avenues of cooperation between the two navies were also discussed in detail. A comprehensive brief on Pakistan Navy’s role in Regional Maritime Security situation and Operational Developments in the Indian Ocean was also given to the visiting dignitary. First Sea Lord & Chief of the Naval Staff Royal Navy UK also laid floral wreath at Shuhada Monument at NHQ to pay homage to PN Shuhada.

In the second leg of his visit, Admiral Sir Philip Jones KCB ADC is scheduled to meet Naval Field Commands at Lahore and Karachi.  He will also deliver a lecture at Pakistan Navy War College Lahore.

This visit is expected to greatly augment the bilateral cooperation between both the Navies.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) met with Pakistan Army team which won Gold Medal in “Exercise Cambrian Patrol” held in UK from 13-22 October. A total of 131 teams participated in the event known as one of the toughest patrolling test for military personnel. Pakistan won Gold medal for  consecutive 3rd  time while 4th time overall.

COAS appreciated the team for their commendable performance.

Cambrian Patrol is physically challenging and arduous exercise which concentrates on teamwork for achieving the mission. The team of 8 x men carrying up to 40 kgs of combat gear crosses some of the most unforgiving mountainous terrain of mid-Wales, UK, amid tactical and technical challenges, testing leadership, self-discipline, courage and determination of participants.

7th Chief of the Naval Staff Amateur Golf Championship concluded at Lahore Garrison Golf & Country Club.  Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Sulman Jhangeer of Gymkhana Lahore emerged as the new Champion.

The three-day event was held from 10 – 12 Nov and has become a quintessential of National Golf Events since its debut in 2011. Around 300 enthusiast golfers participated in various categories which include Amateurs, Seniors, Ladies, Juniors and Invitational Match was also played.

Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi, in his message on the occasion, said that Pakistan Navy besides, its primary role of safeguarding country’s sea frontiers is cognizant of the need for promoting healthy sports activities in the country and among these, Golf has always remained one of PN’s foremost priority. The Naval Chief highlighted that this Championship would usher young golfers to the national scene as well as hone the existing golfing talent. The Naval Chief reiterated that Pakistan Navy will continue to afford such opportunities to harness their skills in future as well.

In his Welcome Address, the Patron and Station Commander (Navy) Lahore, Commodore Dr. S M Shahzad highlighted that holding of Chief of the Naval Staff Amateur Golf Championship for the 7th consecutive year in a row is a tribute to the sustained efforts of Pakistan Navy to promote Golf in Pakistan’s cultural heartland. Commodore Dr. S M Shahzad added that Pakistan Navy is now an established name in the far corners of this most populous province.  As a result, over the years this championship has attained a high level of majestic elegance.

The grand prize distribution ceremony was attended by a large number of civil & military dignitaries and participating golfers.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Line of Control (LOC) in Chirikot sector. PM AJK was also present. PM was briefed by General Officer Commanding on situation along LOC, Indian Cease Fire Violations (CFVs) targeting civilians and befitting professional response by Pakistan Army.

PM condemned Indian unprofessional approach of targeting innocent civilians. He said that Pakistan shall continue its political, diplomatic and moral support to Kashmiris for their just struggle.

While interacting with families of Shaheeds and Injured due to Indian shelling,  PM appreciated their determination and resolve. PM announced enhancement in financial assistance to the families of Shaheeds / injured and approved funds to develop community protection bunkers for safety of civilian population.

COAS directed immediate evacuation of teen aged girl to AFIRM for artificial limb as she had lost her leg due to Indian shelling.

Later PM also interacted with troops. He acknowledged and appreciated contributions & sacrifices of Pakistan Army in defending motherland and for protecting people of Azad Kashmir. “No other Army of the world is parallel to Pak Army. Restoration of peace against terrorism despite our commitments against perpetual threat from eastern border is a milestone achievement and together we shall take it towards enduring peace and stability” PM said.

The three days 44th meeting between Pakistan Rangers and Border Security Force (BSF) concluded at New Dheli today.

The meeting is held alternately in Pakistan and India, on yearly basis. The meeting was held in highly congenial and conducive atmosphere. There has been a sincere endeavor from both the Forces to encourage the local commanders at junior level to mutually resolve the minor issues, related to border management at post, company and battalion level. Measure were also discussed to effectively check the smuggling and border crossings from both sides.

It was also discussed that CFVs and unprovoked firing results in loss of innocent lives. At many occasions, women and children also become the victims. To overcome this ordeal, both border guarding forces need to revive the spirit of 2003 Cease Fire agreement.

In order to address the miseries of inadvertent border crossers and fishermen detained in Indian Jails due to lengthy and complicated repatriation process, both sides explored fresh ideas to expedite the legal formalities with an intent to reunite the affected families with their loved ones.

Issue of defence construction closer to Working Boundary and International Border have also been deliberated upon to find out amicable and prompt solutions for addressing the day to day mutual concerns.

The outcome of this meeting will be beneficial to both the countries in general and border guarding forces in particular.

General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, Chairman JCS Committee has been installed  as 3rd ‘Col-in-Chief’ of Regiment of Artillery at Artillery Centre, Attock, today.

Speaking at the occasion, General Zubair Mahmood Hayat expressed his resolve to continue efforts for solidification and welfare of the Corps of Artillery. Lieutenant General Mian Hilal Hussain was also appointed as ‘Colonel Commandant’ of the   Artillery Regiment during the ceremony.

He further said that it is most reassuring to learn that our navy is fully prepared and geared up to safeguard our maritime interests, defend our sea frontiers and provide security to Gwadar Port and CPEC. The Government will provide full support and is committed to realize the development plans of Pakistan Navy to ensure that it remains a balanced and effective force capable of meeting the future challenges.

 Earlier, detailed briefings were given to the visiting dignitaries on “Maritime Security Challenges to Pakistan and Development of Maritime Sector” and “Requirement of Additional Shipyards”. Concerned senior officials from relevant ministries also attended the briefings. Honourable PM also visited Command Operation Center where he was briefed on ongoing operational activities.

 On arrival at Naval Headquarters, the Prime Minister was received by Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi and was presented the Guard of Honour by a smartly turned out contingent of the Pakistan Navy. Pakistan Navy is hosting 7th CNS Amateur Golf Championship 2017 which will tee off from 10 - 12 November at Lahore Garrison Golf and Country Club Course.

7th Chief of the Naval Staff Golf Championship represents a continuity of effort and devotion by Pakistan Navy to the cause of promoting Golf in the country. This championship has now acquired the status of a premier event and is eagerly sought after by champions of our golf arena, as well as other upcoming and talented golfers who seek elevation of their ranking in the national golf circuit of Pakistan. From the moment the schedule of the CNS Golf Championship is announced, there is a craze amongst the golfing community for getting registered as competitors and participants, but then only the skilled ones are eligible and an amateur golfer has to be in the handicap 12 and below to get accepted as a participant in the actual championship.

Commodore Dr S M Shahzad SI (M) Station Commander (Navy) Lahore is the organizer and Patron of Golf championship at Lahore. He was extremely delighted that this event has become an essential part of the National Golf events since its inception 6 years back in 2011. According to him, in this event, the golf players seek participation, joy and glory. They will come forward and demonstrate their playing skill and ability in the premier activity. In last 6 years, apart from one of the highest participation of golfers in all categories, they have performed exceptionally well and have produced great scores, which is indeed very encouraging. He added that through continuity, this championship has attained an admirable status and is regarded as eminent championship of the national golf calendar.

He acknowledged the services of Lahore Garrison Golf and country club management and staff for providing full support in organizing the event and have prepared the Golf Course in a way that, participants will be much more comfortable. He said that, fairways are in great shape and accurate hitting will be a pleasure for the participants.

Pakistan Navy wishes to enhance its association with sports promotion and development. Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mehmood Abbasi NI (M) is a sports lover and particularly keen towards golf tournaments and he whole-heartedly subscribes to the holding of this national golf event and wishes the best to all participants.

Eligibility criteria for the main event for amateurs will be contested over three rounds with 18 holes to be played each day, making it a total of 54 holes. Winner in this category will be awarded the title and the trophy and the victorious one will be the competitor with the best gross score. The seniors will compete over a total of 18 holes with 9 holes to be played on 10th November and 9th holes on 11th November. Those eligible to participate must be above 55 years and have a handicap of 14 and below. Ladies contest will be over 18 holes on 11th November and criteria for handicap is 30 and below. The participating ladies are much more spirited about the Championship and are eager to display their skills. Last but not the least category is of juniors which will be played over 09 holes on 11th November. But then there are some very determined ones who have all the urge to appear as the challengers.

The Organizing Team of Pakistan Navy headed by Commodore Dr S M Shahzad, Station Commander of Navy in Lahore, vigorously pursuing the arrangements to ensure that excellence remains the hallmark of the event. As for the playing arena, Lahore Garrison Golf and Country Club has a standing amongst the golf courses of Pakistan and will be a challenge to the competing golfers, especially those coming from other stations. Besides this the other pull factors are Pakistan Navy hospitality, intrinsic value of the prizes and the heartwarming goodie bags.

9th Chairman JCSC Open Golf Championship 2017 concluded today at Margalla Green Golf Club, Islamabad. Afzal Ahmad of Margalla Green Golf Club emerges as the new champion whereas Hamza Ameen of Islamabad Golf Club outshined all participant golfers by hitting hole –in-one.

 General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee was the Chief Guest at the Closing ceremony and distributed the prizes among participants of the Championship. Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi and Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman were also present at the occasion.

The event continued from 5 to 8 November, 2017. The tournament was open to participants in professionals, senior professionals, amateurs, ladies and junior categories. The event attracted more than 350 golfers from across the country in all categories.

The ceremony was attended by a large number of Civil & Military dignitaries and Golfers from across the country.

Commander 10 Corps Lieutenant General Nadeem Raza met Children of football team of Mirpur (AJ&K) who  won "12th Open All Russia  Football Competition - Future Depend on You- 2017" held at Moscow from 25 to 28 October 2017.  He  appreciated  achievement of the young children and   assured  support for their training and assistance . Pakistani team has qualified for Street Children Football World Cup scheduled in Russia in March 2018. Proud Pakistani team won all the matches of the tournament including  defeating India and  Russia.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa met Iranian Defence Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami and visited Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) HQ where he interacted with their senior leadership during second day of the visit.

Iranian Defence Minister thanked COAS for his visit, acknowledged achievements of Pakistan Army in war against terrorism and expressed his country’s willingness to enhance defence cooperation. He said that our policy is to develop relations with our neighbors and Pakistan has a special place in Iranian foreign policy.

COAS highlighted that with improved special measures by Pakistan on Pak-Afghan border, terrorists are likely to exploit Pak-Iran friendly border and both countries need to put in efforts to deny it’s use by them.

Both sides agreed to ensure that their soil is not used by any third party against any of the two countries. In this regard steps including establishment of hotline communication between the field commanders along Pak-Iran border, fencing by Iran on their side of the border, coordinated border patrolling, intelligence sharing and more frequent interactions were agreed to.

• Thanked Iranian Military and govt for hospitality extended by Iran during the visit on behalf of COAS.

• COAS brought message of friendship and cooperation.  General Qamar Javed Bajwa Termed Pak-Iran Border as Border of peace and friendship.

• Gen Asif Ghafoor briefed Iranian media about Pakistan’s efforts, achievements and sacrifices in war against terror and towards regional peace.

• Pakistan wishes peace in Afghanistan and supports all initiatives towards this end. We have done everything on Pakistan side of the border. There are no terrorist sanctuaries inside Pakistan.

• ISIS is growing in Afghanistan as threat to region. A regional approach is required to defeat this threat.

• Pakistan has taken effective measures on Pak-Afg border. Terrorists are likely to exploit friendly Pak-Iran border. Enhanced Pak-Iran border Security is in mutual interest.

• DGISPR reiterated that Pakistan's soil will not be used against any country including Iran. Iran has given same commitment.

• Thanked Iranian supreme leader for his supportive statement on Kashmir. Kashmir is long pending dispute between India and Pakistan. Regional peace and security remains at stake unless it’s resolved to the aspiration of Kashmiris in line with UN Resolution.

• Pak and Iranian Army leadership has agreed to continue bilateral engagements for enhanced security cooperation.

• State of Pakistan has stated that our relations with Iran are not at the cost of our relations with any other country and vice a versa. We greatly value our relations with Iran which have a positive history bonded by history, culture and religion.

• Pakistan Armed Forces are capable to thwart any threat with support of Pakistani nation. In Pakistan we say that prerogative of declaring Jehad rests only with state and Armed Forces are state instrument for its application against anti state elements.

Iranian Spokesperson:

• Thanked Pakistani delegation for visit to Iran.

• Acknowledged successful visit and supportive of suggestions made by COAS Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa.

• Assured that Iranian soil shall not be used against Pakistan.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa met Iranian Military and Civilian leadership during his ongoing  visit to Iran. Today COAS met Iranian Chief of General Staff (CGS) Major General Muhammad Bagheri at General Staff HQ where he was presented guard of honour and he laid floral wreath at Martyrs Monument. Delegation level talks were held.

COAS also held meetings with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif at Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani at Presidential Palace.

Iranian leadership thanked COAS for his visit and acknowledged Pakistan’s sacrifices and achievements in war against terror, contributions towards regional peace and the important positive role that Pakistan is playing in this regard.

During the meetings, COAS discussed issues related to Geo-strategic environment, defence & security and economic cooperation at bilateral as well as regional level. Afghan situation, growing threat of ISIS in the region and Pak-Iran border security also came under discussion.

COAS termed Pak-Iran border as border of Peace and Friendship and emphasized its better security management so as to deny its exploitation by the terrorists being a common enemy. Both sides agreed to further the proposals for its formalization.

COAS said that Pakistan and Iran are two brotherly neighbors with shared history, culture and religion. Both armies also have history of defence collaboration and cooperation which has great mutually benefiting potential for its enhancement.

Leaders of both sides agreed to stay engaged for enhanced bilateral cooperation while jointly working to assist in bringing positive developments in other issues concerning the region.

The 9th Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Open Golf Championship was inaugurated today by President Services Control Board, Rear Admiral Syed Bashir Ahmed, HI(M) at Margalla Green Golf Club Islamabad.  The Championship is being played from 5-8 November 2017.

The Golf Championship is being contested in five categories including professionals senior professionals, amateurs, ladies and juniors of recognized Golf Clubs of Pakistan.  Approximately, 350 professionals and amateurs are participating in this prestigious event.

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi visited Naval installations at Coastal Areas including Turbat, Gwadar and Jinnah Naval Base Ormara to review operational readiness of Pakistan Navy Units in the area and port security measures. This is the premiere visit of Coastal Area by Naval Chief after assuming the Command of Pakistan Navy.

Upon arrival at Naval Air Station Turbat, the Naval Chief was received by Commander Pakistan Fleet Rear Admiral Mohammad Amjad Khan Niazi. The Naval Chief was given a detailed briefing on operations of PNS SIDDIQ, operational preparedness, prevailing security situation, ongoing developmental plans for socio-economic uplift of local populace and measures taken for Nation Building.

Chief of the Naval Staff expressed satisfaction over operational preparedness of Pakistan Navy and envisioned that PNS SIDDIQ Naval Air Base as a significant milestone towards enhancing PN’s operational capability, will lead to commercial flying activities, which would act as a catalyst for economic development in the hinterland of Balochistan. Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi also highlighted that other civic facilities including PN Model School Turbat will enable local populace, access to quality services at their door step and set off a new era of prosperity in the region in consonance with Pakistan Navy’s resolve of Nation Building efforts.

Later during the day, the Naval Chief visited Pakistan Navy units at Gwadar and Ormara and was briefed on various ongoing and future Pakistan Navy projects & plans as well as operational activities and security aspects of Gwadar Port particularly with respect to Maritime Components of CPEC Project.

While making an overall appraisal of the prevalent security environment, Chief of the Naval Staff expressed satisfaction over operational preparedness of Pakistan Navy in the presence of prevalent Maritime challenges. The Naval Chief while expressing Pakistan Navy’s resolve to ensure seaward defence of vital maritime infrastructure and protection of the maritime interests of Pakistan against all threats, reiterated that Pakistan Navy will safeguard maritime frontiers of Pakistan at all costs.

Chief of The Naval Staff also interacted with officers and men deployed at Turbat, Gwadar and Ormara. The Admiral applauded their commitment and dedication in safeguarding the maritime frontiers of the country and urged them to nurture and align their character with the golden principles of Islam and make Islamic teachings as guiding lights of their lives, in tandem with strenuous pursuit of professional excellence.

205th Corps Commanders' Conference was held at GHQ today presided by General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff.

Forum took review of geo-strategic security environment with special focus on recent interactions with Afghanistan and US authorities. Internal security situation, progress of ongoing counter terrorism operations and its projection to achieve enduring peace and stability was also discussed. The forum concluded that security apparatus shall continue to perform its role in line with national interest.

COAS said that while operational gains are being consolidated through support to Govt for development prong in socio - economic domain, there will be enhanced focus on similar socio-economic development effort in Balochistan.

The forum also deliberated upon various internal functions and professional aspects including special welfare measures for families of Shahada.

Rear Admiral Moazzam Ilyas and Rear Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi have assumed the command of PN Coastal Command and Pakistan Navy Fleet, respectively. The Change of Command ceremonies were held at Karachi.

The newly appointed Commander Coast, Rear Admiral Moazzam Ilyas joined Pakistan Navy in 1980. During his distinguished career, he has served on various Command and Staff appointments.

His command appointments include command of two Destroyers PNS BADR & PNS BABUR as well as three missile boats, Commander Combined Task Force 150 at HQ NAVCENT Bahrain. and Commander North (COMNOR). His prominent staff appointments include Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff (Plans), Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff (Operations), Chief Staff Officer to Commander Pakistan Fleet and Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff (Training and Evaluation) at Naval Headquarters. The Admiral has also served as Naval and Air Attache at Iran. Before being appointed as Commander Coast, the Flag Officer was performing the duties of Commandant PN War College and Commander Central Punjab in Lahore. He is a graduate of Joint Command and Staff College Shrivenham, UK. He has Masters Degrees in Defence Studies from Kings College, London and Strategic Studies from Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad. Rear Admiral Moazzam Ilyas is recipient of Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military).

The newly appointed Commander Pakistan Fleet, Rear Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi joined Pakistan Navy in 1981 and also won the coveted Sword of Honour upon his completion of initial training at Pakistan Naval Academy. During his illustrious career, Rear Admiral Muhammad Amjad has served on various Command and Staff appointments.  His Command appointments include command of two type 21 ships PNS BADR and PNS TARIQ, Commander 18th Destroyer Squadron, and Commandant PNS BAHADUR. His staff appointments include Director Naval Operations, Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Training & Evaluation), Commandant Pakistan Navy War College/Commander Central Punjab Lahore and Director General Naval Intelligence. He has also performed the duties of Chief Naval Overseas at Shanghai. He is a graduate of Army Command & Staff College, Quetta and National Defence University, Islamabad. The Admiral holds masters degrees in Underwater Acoustics from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, China and War Studies from Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad. In recognition of his meritorious services, the newly appointed Commander Pakistan Fleet has been awarded Hilal e Imtiaz (Military) and Sitara e Basalat. He has also been conferred with the French Medal Chevalier (Knight) by the Government of France. On assumption of Pakistan Navy Fleet Command, Rear Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi is now the Operational Commander of PN Fleet.

The change of commands ceremonies were attended by a large number of Pakistan Navy officers and sailors.

A special Hot Line contact was established between DGsMO of Pakistan and Indian Armies today. Pakistan DGMO protested on recent deliberate targeting of innocent civilians along LOC resulting into civilian casualties. DGMO Pakistan army said that Indian troops are deliberately targeting innocent civilians including children and said that such deliberate actions are serious concern and violation of 2003 agreement.

On allegation of targeting of civilians by Pakistan Army, DGMO Pakistan army clarified that Pakistan considers  people living across LOC as our brethren and Pakistan Army as a professional force has never done this.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) installed Lieutenant General Nadeem Raza, Commander Rawalpindi Corps as 1st Colonel Commandant of Mujahid Force in a ceremony held at Mujahid Force Center, Bhimber. A large number of serving / retired officers including from Mujahid Force were present at the occasion.

Later while interacting with the Commanding Officers and soldiers of Mujahid Force, COAS appreciated contributions and sacrifices of Mujahid Force particularly along the Line of Control. He said that Army is undertaking various measures to ensure that services of Mujahid Force are recognized in deserving manner.

Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi in all his professional pursuits has exhibited dynamic leadership skills coupled with immaculate moral strength, remarkable professional competence and high sense of responsibility. His exemplary conduct instilled inspiration amongst subordinates and contributed profoundly in development of Pakistan Navy.

Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi was commissioned in Operations Branch of Pakistan Navy in June 1981. The Admiral undertook initial training at Britannia Royal Naval College Dartmouth, UK. On commissioning, he won the coveted Sword of Honour from Pakistan Naval Academy. During his distinguished career, the Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi attained vast experience of both command and staff appointments.

His command appointments include Command of Surface ships, Commandant Pakistan Naval Academy, Commander 25th Destroyer Squadron, DG Pakistan Maritime Security Agency, Commander Coast, Commander Logistics, Commander Pakistan Fleet and Command of Multi-National Combined Task Force 150 at HQ NAVCENT Bahrain.

His key staff appointments include Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Plans), Chief Inspector (Navy), Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff (Operations) and Chief of Staff at Naval Headquarters.

 Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi is a graduate of National Defence University Islamabad and Royal Australian Navy Staff College.

Federal Ministers, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Air Staff, senior officers of the armed forces and high ranking officials attended the coveted investiture ceremony.
