Chairman JCS Committee, General Zubair Mahmood Hayat visited National Engineering and Scientific Commission (NESCOM). Chairman was briefed on various projects being undertaken by NESCOM. Expressing satisfaction over the development and progress of various strategic systems and capabilities, Chairman JCS Committee lauded the efforts of scientists and engineers involved in the development programmes. He also highlighted the significant contributions of NESCOM in developing an array of state of the art strategic missile systems that have made Pakistan’s defence formidable. Chairman also appreciated contributions of NESCOM in the development of various conventional weapon systems for the three Services.

 Chairman reiterated that Pakistan is a peace loving country but would not remain oblivious to its national security needs and shall pursue a policy of developing credible minimum deterrence to counter threats to its security.

The closing and prize distribution ceremony of 22nd Chief of The Naval Staff Open Golf Championship 2017 was held at the picturesque Karachi Golf Club today. Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah was the chief guest on the occasion.

The four days long championship was held from 17-20 August and the event was open to various categories. The categories in the championship included 36 holes each for caddies, semi professionals, senior professionals and junior professionals. 18 holes matches were played for seniors and ladies, 9 holes for veterans and 72 holes each for Professionals and Amateurs. With prize money of Rs 7.0 million, the event continues to be the highest prize money golf event of Pakistan. The prize purse included Rs 0.5 million for the match of KGC caddies and semi professionals preceding the main event. The richest-ever golf event of the country attracted more than 600 golfers from across the nation and featured the cream of national golf, in all categories.

Commending the untiring efforts of Pakistan Navy, KGC staff and the organizers for seamless conduct of the championship, Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah said that the successful conduct of the 22nd CNS Golf Championship is the manifestation of highest level of patronage enjoyed by this game. The Naval Chief also said that golf undoubtedly is a fast emerging game for all ages in Pakistan and Pakistan Navy takes pride in organizing a golf championship of this stature every year.

The chief guest appreciated the participants of 22nd CNS Golf Championship for providing excellent entertainment to the golf enthusiasts in Pakistan and congratulated the winners for their remarkable success. He also paid special gratitude to the sponsors and media for their support to the game of Golf and Pakistan Navy’s efforts to promote sports in the country.

The Ceremony was attended by a large number of dignitaries from Armed forces of Pakistan, civil organizations and Golfers of the country.

The 22nd Chief of the Naval Staff Open Golf Championship 2017 has entered in the final round. At the end of the third day of the championship Shabbir Iqbal is taking the lead with ten under par in Professionals Category.

During the third day of the championship, matches of different categories were played, M Sharif, Javed Inayat and, Zeeshan Khan are leading the score board in Amateurs Gross, Senior Professionals and Juniors Professionals categories respectively. More than 300 male and female golfers participated in the third day events of the championship. The final round of the championship will be played tomorrow. Results for Ladies, Seniors, Veterans and Juniors’ categories played today, will be shared shortly.

United States Delegation headed by General Joseph L. Votel, Commander United States Central Command (US CENTCOM) visited North Waziristan Agency today. The delegation was briefed about Pak Army's operations in NWA and about Pak-Afg border security mechanism through enhanced surveillance measures. The delegation was also briefed about progress on the socio-economic developments including return of Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDPs).

The delegation appreciated efforts and sacrifices of Pakistan Army and local tribes for re-establishing peace and order in the area. The visiting dignitary also realized the importance of Pak-Afg bilateral border security coordination.

Later the delegation visited APS miranshah and interacted with students.

Brig General Wojciech Grabowski, Commander Polish Land Forces visited Naval Headquarters Islamabad today and called on Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah.

During the meeting, professional matters of mutual interest and various avenues of defence collaboration between Pakistan and Poland came under discussion. The Naval Chief highlighted the role and contribution of Pakistan Navy in maintaining peace and stability in the regional maritime domain.

Brig General Wojciech Grabowski acknowledged the efforts of Pakistan Navy for establishment of maritime peace, stability and lawful order at sea including participation in Coalition Maritime Campaign Plan (CMCP) and Counter Piracy Operations for maritime security and stability in the region. 

 The visit is expected to greatly enhance the bilateral defence collaboration between Pakistan and Poland.

Command and Staff Conference of Pakistan Navy concluded today at Naval Headquarters, Islamabad. The Conference was chaired by Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah.

Matters related to operational preparedness, developmental plans of Pakistan Navy and prevailing security situation were reviewed. Detailed briefings on various ongoing and future Pakistan Navy projects and plans as well as operational activities and security aspects at Gwadar Port particularly with respect to Maritime Components of CPEC Project were also given to Chief of the Naval Staff.

While making an overall appraisal of the prevalent security environment, Chief of the Naval Staff expressed satisfaction over operational preparedness of Pakistan Navy in the presence of prevalent Maritime challenges. The Naval Chief while expressing Pakistan Navy’s resolve to ensure seaward defence of vital maritime infrastructure and protection of the maritime interests of Pakistan against all threats, reiterated PN’s unflinching resolve and determination to safeguard maritime frontiers of Pakistan at all costs. The Admiral also reiterated that Pakistan Navy will continue to play a significant role in sustenance of peace and stability in the Indian Ocean Region in the midst of complex, challenging and evolving contemporary security environment. He also urged the field commanders to remain at the highest state of preparedness and maintain a constant vigil in their Area of Responsibility (AoR).

The Naval Chief emphasized to conduct Coastal security exercises regularly in coordination with other Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) and Organizations to acquire the highest degree of professionalism and interoperability.

The Naval Chief also expressed satisfaction over operational preparedness of Pakistan Navy in the face of prevalent Maritime challenges and lauded the morale and motivation of troops at all levels.

Command and Staff Conference is the apex decision making body of Pakistan Navy in which all Principal Staff Officers and Field Commanders undertake strategic review of Pakistan Navy’s Policies and Plans.

Javed Inayat with five under par in Senior Professionals category and Zeeshan Khan with even par in Junior Professionals category are on the top places at leader board on first day of their game.

 During 2nd day of 22nd CNS Open Golf Championship 2017, around 250 golfers showcased their golfing skills in 4 different categories of Professionals, Senior Professionals, Junior Professionals and Amateurs. Female golfers will also commence their matches on the 3rd day of championship. Final round of the championship will be played on 20 August 2017. Results of amateurs will be finalized tomorrow as some of their matches could not complete today.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Okara Cantt on the conclusion of 6th Army PACES (Physical Agility and Combat Efficiency System) Championship and distributed awards to the winners.

A total no of 250 contestants from 10 best teams participated in different events of championship which was held from 9 – 18 Aug 2017.
PACES is a concept introduced in the Pakistan Army in 2010 by revamping existing physical training methods with the objective to improve the fitness and agility of troops. The concept flourished and later on the armies of other countries also adopted it in their training programs. PACES Competition is an exceptional and distinctive physical fitness competition calling for demonstration of strength, agility and endurance skills. Participants of 6th Army PACES Championship exhibited undying spirit and stamina.

While speaking on occasion, COAS appreciated the physical fitness standards displayed by the participants of the competition and efforts of both trainers and trainees in achieving those standards. He said that regardless of the advances in warfare technology, the basic traits of soldiering are linked with physical fitness.

Rawalpindi Corps team won the 6th Army PACES Championship while Karachi Corps team won the 2nd Position in the competition. Sepoy Zahir Shah won the overall best player award of the competition and Sepoy Nasir Ullah secured overall 2nd Position.

In individual matches, Sepoy Ashir Masih secured first position in 3.2 Km run by covering distance in 09:57 minutes. Sepoy Shamraze Shaheen won first position by completing combat efficiency test in 53.26 seconds. Sepoy Jamshaid Khan did 112 pull ups to clinch 1st position in pull ups match. Sepoy Ashir Azeem secured first position in sit up match by doing 2377 sit ups. Sepoy Irfan Riaz did 1503 push ups to secure first position. Lieutenant General Hidayat Ur Rehman, Inspector General Training and Evaluation and Commander Bahawalpur Corps, Lieutenant General     Sher Afgun were also present on the occasion.

22 Ferraris including a Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) Commander namely Ainuddin surrendered to Security Forces  today during a ceremony at FC Madadgar Headquarters Quetta. General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), visited Inter Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) today. COAS addressed and interacted with youth undergoing annual internship programme at ISPR. COAS congratulated the students on successful completion of the internship program. Speaking on the occasion, COAS said that Pakistan is blessed with most talented and vibrant youth, and, future of Pakistan belongs to them. COAS said that he  has full confidence and optimism that Pakistani youth realizing their potential will lead Pakistan to new era of peace and progress. COAS asked the interns to have confidence in themselves, adhere to merit, follow rule of law, and don't look for shortcuts in life for success.

In response to a question that how did he maintain his morale amid so much of challenges and pressures COAS replied that selfless motivation of his outfit (Pak Army) and hope he sees in future of Pakistan (the youth) keeps him motivated and committed to the cause.

COAS also assured the students that Pakistan Army is committed to provide them a safe, secure and stable Pakistan. Pakistan Army is capable to meet all internal and external challenge. Pakistan Army has achieved great successes to rid country of violence and terrorism. However for enduring peace each one of us has to contribute our respective bit. "Every Pakistani is soldier of Operation Rudd-ul-Fasaad" COAS said. COAS asked the students to remain mindful and vigilant of hostile narratives through social media. "Educated youth is prime target of ISIS and affiliates, be extra cautious", COAS advised the youth.

"Your success and progress in life depends on three things; Faith in Allah, serve your  parents and hard work. This trinity is key to success" COAS remarked in response to the question on key to success in life.

The annual Internship Programme 2017 was held from 11 July to 17 August 2017 comprising  students from various educational institutions across the country including FATA.

French Navy handed over Command of Multinational Combined Task Force 150 (CTF-150) to Pakistan Navy at an impressive change of command ceremony held at Headquarters US NAVCENT, Bahrain. Rear Admiral Naveed Ahmed Rizvi of Pakistan Navy took over the Command of CTF-150 from Rear Admiral Olivier Lebas of French Navy.

It is the 10th time that Pakistan Navy has been entrusted with this honour. Vice Admiral Kevin M Donegan, Commander US Naval Force Central Command & Commander Combined Maritime Forces presided over the ceremony.

At the outset of the ceremony, Rear Admiral Olivier Lebas, the outgoing CCTF-150, presented resume of CTF 150's recent accomplishments. Commander Maritime Forces Vice Admiral Kevin M Donegan, during his address also congratulated him for a job well done.

While ddressing the audience, Rear Admiral Naveed Ahmed Rizvi, new CCTF-150 assured that his team is fully prepared to shoulder this prestigious responsibility. CCTF-150 also lauded the outgoing French Navy team and their dedicated efforts to achieve objectives of CTF 150 during their tenure of Command and reaffirmed his resolve to continue operations with the same zeal and zest. He further highlighted that relations between Pakistan Navy and coalition Navies continue to strengthen due to our focused commitment in support of collaborative maritime security to bring peace and stability to this region. 
Combined Task Force 150 is one of the three Task Forces within the ambit of Combined Maritime Forces (CMF). It is a Multinational Coalition for Counter Terrorism operations at sea in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) with the mission to promote Maritime Security at sea, deter, deny and disrupt acts of terrorism while countering related illicit activities at sea. The number of participating countries in CMF has risen to 31 over the period of time.
Prior to present Command tenure, Pakistan Navy had the exclusive distinction of commanding CTF-150 for nine times and Multinational Combined Task Force 151 (Counter Piracy Task Force) eight times  which is a manifestation of the trust and respect enjoyed by Pakistan Navy among coalition partners. Over the years, Pakistan Navy has not only served the maritime interests of Pakistan but has also very effectively fulfilled its international obligations.
The ceremony was attended by Pakistan's Ambassador to Bahrain H.E Mr Javed Malik and several high-ranking military officials from coalition countries.

The 22nd Chief of the Naval Staff Golf Championship 2017 commenced today. The championship will be continued from 17-20 August 2017. During the first day of the championship around 200 players contested in professional and amateur categories.

During day long matches, around 200 players played in professionals’ and amateurs’ categories. This year more than 600 players are participating in the championship.

Matloob Ahmed is the defending champion of 22nd CNS Golf Championship in professionals category while Imdad Hussain is playing to retain his title in senior professionals.

In today’s matches Matloob Ahmed is leading with a score of 4 under par in the professionals category of the championship.  Muhammad Sharif is leading with a score of 02 over par in the amateur category at the end of the first day matches.

“Chief of the Naval Staff Inaugurates Ground Breaking of Maritime Counter Terrorism Centre (MCTC) and 2nd  Force Protection Battalion
at Karachi”

Karachi, 15 August 17: Ground Breaking Ceremonies of Maritime Counter Terrorism Centre (MCTC) and 2nd Force Protection Battalion were held at  Karachi. Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah graced the ceremonies as Chief Guest.  Commander Coast Rear Admiral Abdul Aleem was also present.

Maritime Counter Terrorism Centre (MCTC) is being constructed with an aim to fulfill the training requirements of Special Operation Forces and special wings of own and other Law enforcement Agencies (LEAs) in Maritime Counter Terrorism domain. MCTC will house state of the art training facilities including Live Fire Shoot Houses, Sniper Ranges, Military Training in Urban Terrain, Close Quarter Combat Ranges and simulators etc.

 2nd Force Protection Battalion is an operational segment of Pak Marines and has been raised for protection of Karachi Harbour and offshore infrastructure including sensitive installation at Karachi, Anti Amphibious Operations and Humanitarian Assistance & Disaster Relief Operations.
 
The inauguration ceremonies were attended by a large number of Naval officers and CPOs/Sailors.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS)  visited forward troops  deployed at Line of Control. COAS  was apprised of the recent  abnormally frequent Cease Fire Violations from the Indian side and effective response by own troops. COAS  was told that the only restraint  faced by own troops is the professional  ethos  of Pakistan Army which bars them from responding in kind when Indian troops target innocent  civilians along LOC.

COAS lauded the motivation and spirit of the troops. He said that there's no better way to celebrate independence than defending the country. COAS said that the Indian Army's atrocities have not been able to deter the spirit and sacrifices of the brave Kashmiris in Indian Occupied Kashmir.  We will  always stand with them in their just struggle against repression.

کوئٹہ میں پاکستان کی 70ویں جشن آزادی کی مناسبت سے کوئٹہ کے بگٹی اسٹیڈیم میں آزادی پریڈ کا انعقاد جوانوں کے بلند حوصلے اور ملی نغموں نے شرکا کا خون گرما دیا شہدائے پشین سٹاپ کے لیے ایک منٹ کی خاموشی اختیار کرتے ہوئے اس عزم کا اظہار کیا گیا کہ پاکستان کے خلاف ہونے والی تمام سازشوں کو ناکام بنا دیا جائیگا کوئٹہ کے بگٹی اسٹیڈیم میں 70 ویں جشن آزادی کی مناسبت سے آزادی پریڈ کا انعقاد ہوا جس میں گورنرمحمد خان اچکزئی ،وزیر اعلیٰ بلوچستان نواب ثنا اللہ خان زہری اور کمانڈر سدرن کمانڈ لیفٹیننٹ جنرل عامر ریاض نے پرچم کشائی کی اورپاک فوج کے چاک و چوبند دستوںنے قومی پرچم کو سلامی پیش کی تقریب کے مہمان خصوصی گورنر بلوچستان محمد خان اچکزئی تھے جبکہ صوبائی وزرا، ارکان اسمبلی، اعلیٰ سول و فوجی افسران سمیت شہریوں کی بڑی تعداد نے تقریب میں شرکت کی تقریب کا آغاز تلاوت کلام پاک سے ہوا تقریب میں ملک کے نامور گلوگاروں نے ملی نغمے پیش کیے۔جبکہ چینی فنکاروں نے پاکستان کی جشن آزادی کے موقع پر خصوصی طور پر آزادی پریڈ کی تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کمانڈر سدرن کمانڈلیفٹیننٹ جنرل عامر ریاض نے کہا کہ بلوچستان میں آج حالات ماضی کی نسبت یکسر مختلف ہیں جشن آزادی پورے شایان شان طریقے سے منایا جاتاہیں اور بلوچستان کا کوئی حصہ ایسا نہیں ہے جہاں پاکستان زندہ باد کے نعرے نہ گونج رہے ہوں تقریب کے اختتا م پر شاندار آتش بازی کا مظاہرہ کیا گیا۔

No of events were organised in all agencies ,Bajour ,Mohmand , Khyber,  Orkzai Kurram , North and South  Waziristan  Agencies .A friendly cricket match was also played between Khyber and NWA teams at younus khan cricket  stadium,  Miraan Shah which was witnessed by over 20000 individuals including  locals , Mashraans, officials of civil administration ,  Students and Other members of the society. An impressive Change of Guard ceremony was held at mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah as the entire nation celebrated 70th anniversary of Independence of Pakistan. Smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Naval Academy cadets, clad in ceremonial dresses, assumed ceremonial guard duties at Mazar-e-Quaid with traditional spirit, customary enthusiasm and military manners to mark the Independence Day celebrations.

Commandant Pakistan Naval Academy, Commodore Adnan Ahmad graced the occasion as Chief Guest and reviewed the guard. The Chief Guest and smartly turned out cadets of Pakistan Navy presented Qaumi Salam to the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The ceremonial Guard mounting was followed by laying of floral wreath at the Mazar-e-Quaid by the Chief Guest on behalf of Chief of the Naval Staff, officers and men of Pakistan Navy. Later on, the Chief Guest offered Fateha and recorded his remarks in the visitor book and paid rich tribute to our beloved Quaid.

Earlier, the day dawned with Gun Salutes and special prayers were offered in all Naval mosques for solidarity and progress of the country and particularly for the success of Kashmiris struggle. Pakistan Navy Ships and Establishments were illuminated in Navy’s traditional manner. Flag hoisting ceremonies were held at Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore and Coastal Area at designated Units of Pakistan Navy.

 Various other activities including singing of national anthem at naval units/establishments in the morning, PN Band Display at Frere Hall Karachi, Flag Hoisting Ceremony at Pakistan Maritime Museum as well as various sports fixtures were also a part of day long celebrations. Independence Day celebrations at Pakistan Navy educational institutions were also held where school children presented tableaus on national songs and declamation contests were held highlighting the importance of Independence Day.

Numerous Independence Day ceremonies were also held by PN units at Ormara, Pasni, Gwadar, Jiwani, and Turbat and other coastal areas, including fishing boats special rallies. These ceremonies and activities were attended by a large number of local notables, civil and military dignitaries.

Pakistan Navy, in line with the vision of Government of Pakistan launched “Pakistan Navy – Mangroves Plantation Campaign 2017” in the Coastal Areas of Sindh and Balochistan provinces on the eve of Independence Day.  Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah graced the occasion as Chief Guest and inaugurated Pakistan Navy Mangroves Plantation Campaign by planting sapling of Mangroves. The Campaign entails an effort to plant over one Million Mangroves in the Coastal Areas of Sindh and Balochistan provinces.

While speaking on the occasion, Chief of the Naval Staff highlighted that deforestation of mangroves has not only affected biodiversity of our coastal areas but also livelihoods of coastal communities. Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah elaborated that these campaigns will not only increase the Mangrove forest cover but will also play a key role in awareness of masses about the importance of these forests. The Naval Chief emphasized all the relevant Federal, Provincial institutions and all sections of the society to join hands for this noble cause. Emphasizing the importance of mangroves the Naval Chief announced that the name of the campaign be changed to National Campaign for Mangroves Plantation 2017.

While giving his message on Independence Day the Naval Chief said that Independence is a great virtue. He said, “Let us pledge that we will value it and we will perform our duties with complete honesty and we all will contribute in making this country greater”.

Mangroves are vital to coastal ecosystem, prevention of sea intrusion and sustainment of marine life.  Unfortunately over the years, Mangroves along the Pakistani coast have diminished due to negligence and apathy of all concerned.  Being a major stakeholder of the maritime domain and realizing the importance of mangroves for marine life, Pakistan Navy has taken a major initiative to revive Mangrove forests all along the coast. Realizing the importance of Mangroves forests in combating pollution, countering coastal erosion and providing a number of economic and financial opportunities to coastal communities, Pakistan Navy in line with the vision of the Federal Government regularly under takes Mangroves Plantation Campaigns. Over one Million Mangroves saplings were planted last year with the collaboration of Forest Departments of Sindh & Balochistan, International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Through these campaigns, not only more forests are raised but also the existing Mangroves forests can be conserved.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by a large number of senior military and civil officials including representatives from business community, journalists, World Wildlife Fund (WWF), International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), officials from Federal and Provincial Forest Departments.

The 22nd Chief of the Naval Staff Open Golf Championship is being played from 17 to 20 August at Karachi Golf Club. This was announced by Patron PN Golf Commodore Saqib Jamil Khattak during a media brief held today at Karachi Golf Club. Commander Karachi Rear Admiral Ather Mukhtar, Mr. Sohail Shams, Chief Executive UMA and other sponsors were also present on the occasion.

The championship will be played in professionals, semi professionals, amateurs, veterans, juniors and ladies categories. For professionals and amateurs categories, the tournament will be contested for 72 holes over a period of four days for which a sum of Rs. 7.0 Million is being offered as prize money. In addition, 36 holes matches for ladies and semi professionals of Karachi Golf Club will also be held on 10 and 11 August 2017 with a separate prize money of Rs.0.5 million and Rs.0.1 million respectively. Moreover, a lot of other prizes have also been offered for all categories.  

In addition to the primary responsibility of safeguarding maritime frontiers of the country, Pakistan Navy has always played an effective role in social welfare, health and education. Other than these vital roles Pakistan Navy also has the credit of being supportive to augment different sports in Pakistan. Pakistan Navy has played a significant role in promoting sports at organizational, Inter Services, national and international levels specially in the fields of Sailing, Rowing, Shooting, Squash, Hockey, Cricket and Golf.

Like other games, Golf is also on the list of sports on which PN is working to promote.

In 1995, Pakistan Navy instituted Chief of Naval Staff Open Golf Championship to add a national level Golf event in the calendar of Pakistan Golf Federation. Ever since, it has become a regular and major event of national golf circuit. The regular conduct of the championship since then is the manifestation of PN’s commitment towards promotion of this sport at national level.

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah is on an official visit to Germany. The Admiral visited German Naval Academy at Flensburg and German Submarine Naval Base at Eckernforde, Germany.

Chief of the Naval Staff  was given detailed briefings regarding Submarine Training Centre. Subsequently, Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah also visited German Submarine. During his visit onboard, the Naval Chief interacted with German Navy Submarine’s officers and men and lauded their operational competence.

Recent visit of the Naval Chief will further enhance and expand defence ties between the two countries in general and navies in particular.

203rd Corps Commanders’ conference presided by General Qamar Javed Bajwa, chief of Army staff (COAS) was held at GHQ today. The forum undertook a comprehensive review of internal and external security environment. The forum also deliberated upon regional security situation, especially Afghanistan and reaffirmed its commitment to regional peace and security. COAS said, "We look forward to a trust based mutual cooperation in this regard which can achieve the policy ends of enduring regional peace".

Forum was also briefed about situation along LOC. The Forum acknowledged positive long term effects being achieved through Operation Radd-ul- Fasaad. COAS especially appreciated successful conduct of Operation Khyber 4 in a most inhospitable terrain of Rajgal with minimal own casualties which is made possible through high standards of professionalism.

Expressing full satisfaction on Army's commitment to national defence and security, COAS directed that efforts must continue, in concert with other elements of national power to defeat terrorism/ militancy in order to establish Rule of Law and uphold supremacy of constitution.

Pakistan Navy, besides performing the sacred duty of defending the maritime frontiers of motherland, is also spearheading in the field of education. With an aim to provide quality education to the children of under-privileged areas, Bahria Model school, Younasabad is a great contribution of Pakistan Navy in collaboration with government of Sindh in the field of education. Bahria Model School Younusabad is equipped with state of the art science laboratories and computer labs. The school will also have a library to inculcate reading habit into the new generation of the country.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that due to absence of quality education institutions in areas like Younusabad, parents were unable to send their children to schools. In this regard, Pakistan Navy’s efforts for establishing such educational institutions are highly commendable. He hoped to look forward in collaborating with Pakistan Navy for different development projects and ensured that Sindh Government is always ready to team up PN in such initiatives.

The Chief Guest lauded the concerted efforts of Pakistan Navy for timely completion of this important project and hoped that the institute will go long way to facilitate children of less privileged areas of Younasabad, Kaka Pir and Hawks Bay etc.

Earlier, during his welcome address Commander Karachi Rear Admiral Athar Mukhtar expressed his gratitude to Sindh government for its contribution in establishing Bahria Model School Younasabad under the auspices of Pakistan Navy.

The project of Bahria Model School Younasabad started in June 2016 and in first phase its Pre-Primary and Girls wings were completed which started functioning in April 2017. The second phase of the project comprising Primary and Boy’s wings of the school has also concluded in a very short period of time and the newly constructed wings will be functional soon. The first academic session of the school started in April this year which accommodated more than 700 students and capacity of the school will now be increased up to 1500 students. The construction of the school will be completed in three phases and it will be upgraded to the level of intermediate college to offer quality education to more than 7500 students of the villages in close proximity.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior officials of Pakistan Navy, officials from government of Sindh and local notables.

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah is on an official visit to Germany. During the visit, the Naval Chief called on Deputy Chief of Defence Staff Germany, Vice Admiral Ruehle and German Naval Chief (Inspector of German Navy), Vice Admiral Andreas Krause.

Upon his arrival at Federal Ministry of Defence Germany at Berlin, Admiral was received by German Naval Chief (Inspector of German Navy), Vice Admiral Andreas Krause. During the meeting, professional matters of mutual interest and bilateral defence ties were dilated upon. Deputy Chief of Defence Staff Germany highly appreciated the role and contributions of Pakistan in spearheading various initiatives for maintaining peace and stability in the region. Both the dignitaries agreed and looked forward to further enhancing the interaction between Pakistan and Germany in the diverse fields of training, mutual visits and defence collaboration.
During discussions with German Naval Chief various matters of mutual interest including bilateral naval collaboration, Maritime Security and Stability, Coalition Maritime Campaign Plan (CMCP), Counter Piracy Operations, drug trafficking and various avenues to enhance interoperability between Pakistan and German Navy were pondered upon. Naval Chief also highlighted Pakistan’s commitment and performance in fight against terrorism in general and Pakistan Navy’s efforts for maintaining regional peace and security in particular. Vice Admiral Andreas Krause acknowledged Pakistan Navy’s efforts and focused commitments in support of collaborative maritime security in the region and also hoped to extend cooperation between both the Navies in diverse fields of Naval collaboration.

Later during the day, Naval Chief also visited German Navy Ship FGS ERFURT at Warnemunde Naval Base. During his visit onboard, the Naval Chief interacted with German Navy Ship’s crew and appreciated their operational competence.

It is expected that the recent visit of the Naval Chief will further enhance and expand defence ties between the two countries in general and Armed Forces in particular.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) visited Rajgal valley, Khyber Agency today. COAS was given detailed briefing on progress of Operation Khyber 4 in which forces have cleared over 90% of the objective area. COAS appreciated professionalism of the participating troops including support of PAF in skillful targeting of the terrorists' strongholds minimising own casualties. On completion of this operation Khyber Agency would be free of terrorists' influence thereby providing environment for return of TDPs and development prong to proceed.

Talking to officers and troops at the occasion, COAS thanked Allah for His blessings which enabled Pakistan Army to come up to the expectations of the Nation in achievements against terrorism and militancy in the country. He said that with full backing of the nation we are heading towards a normalized Pakistan where writ of state and supremacy of law would be second to none and where every Pakistani whether in cities, tribal or far flung areas will be able to play their positive and rightful part in Pakistan's progress.

A group of students and faculty members from University of Central Punjab spent a day out visiting various military units and formations of Pakistan Army at Lahore Garrison. The programme, was specifically organised to enlighten students on routine functioning of Pakistan Army, its organisation and defence capability.

The day long programme started with wreath laying ceremony at Yadgar-e-Shuhada to pay homage to martyrs of Pak Army. The students visited a field information and had an informal interaction with officers and soldiers. Later, they also witnessed arms and equipment display including small arms fire at the firing ranges.

The programme culminated with flag lowering ceremony at Wahga border. The students applauded the state of morale, commitment and professional competence of Pak Army and expressed their gratitude for being provided a life time experience and opportunity.

A mock exercise was conducted by Pakistan Rangers Punjab along with Punjab Police, Motorway Police and Rescue 1122 at Kala Shah Kaku Motorway Interchange.

The exercise was aimed at rehearsal of rescue / damage control measures against Ahmed Pur Sherqia oil tanker like incident or any terrorist activity on Motorway/ National Highways.

Condemning the terrorist's attack on United States Forces in Kandhar, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa offered heartfelt condolences on the death of two Special Forces soldiers who died in the incident. He said that we fully understand the loss and pain of victims' families as Pakistan is undergoing a similar trial of blood in fight against common threat of terrorism. COAS  wished an early recovery of injured in the incident.

In Rajgal operation Khyber 4 progressing as planned. Forces have cleared a major hide out of terrorist which was a transit for terrorists from across. Commander Peshawar Corps visited troops in operation  today along with IGFC KP.

In Balochistan FC  foiled terrorist activity planned during Azadi celebrations. FC troops conducted IBO in Kuchmina, Zhob. One terrorist facilitator guarding an hideout apprehended. Hideout dismantled. Prepared IEDs, explosives and IEDs making material recovered.

Ground Breaking of new Runway at Naval Air Station Ormara and inauguration of newly constructed academic block of Cadet College Ormara (CCO) was held today at Ormara, Balochistan. Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah was the Chief Guest on the occasions.
 
Upon his arrival the Naval Chief was received by Commander Coast Rear Admiral Abdul Aleem. After the inauguration ceremony of the academic block of CCO, Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah interacted with the project team and congratulated for timely completion of the project. He appreciated their spirit and expressed hope that the college will play an important role in the nation building. He said that the role of teachers is most significant in educational institutions. The admiral further added that the teachers of Cadet College Ormara should also focus on character building of cadets along with educational and training activities.
 
The foundation of Cadet College Ormara was laid in June 2012 and it started functioning in a temporarily arranged building in 2013. Its aim is to bring the young generation of Balochistan in the socio-economic stream of the country at par with other provinces through quality education and training, and facilitate them to come forward to serve the nation. Since its inception, 05 batches of cadets have enrolled in the college. In addition to the academic block, the new building of CCO will comprise cadet hostels, shooting range, science and computer labs, auditorium, play grounds, library and a mosque.
 
Earlier, the Naval Chief also attended ground breaking ceremony of the new runway at Naval Air Station (Ormara) and unveiled the plaque. During the welcome address, Commander Coast Rear Admiral Abdul Aleem highlighted the significance of the new runway for Naval Air operations in Balochistan and said that the construction of new runway at Ormara is yet another manifestation of Pakistan Navy’s aim of westward expansion.
 
Both the ceremonies were attended by officials of Pakistan Navy, Frontier Works Organization, Civil Aviation Authority, Civil administration, educationists and a large number of local notables.

Special two days long Baloch Regiment Conference is being held at Baloch Regimental Center Abbotabad. In its opening session COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa was presented the honour and ranks of Colonel in Chief of Baloch Regiment.

COAS lauded the proud traditions and contribution of Baloch Regiment which is one of the most decorated regiments of Army due to sterling performance over the years. He praised the sacrifices of the Shuhada and assured their families that Army will never forget those who gave their blood to defend and strengthen the nation. COAS emphasised that Pakistan Army will continue its efforts to eliminate the menace of terrorism  and to ensure that the borders remain secure. This demands the highest standards of faith, professionalism and perseverance in the service of the Nation.

COAS also laid floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada to pay homage to martyrs of Baloch Regiment for laying their lives for defence of motherland.

Lieutenant General Nadeem Raza, Commander 10 Corps and large number of serving and retired Gen officers of Baloch Regiment including former COAS Gen Mirza Aslam Beg, Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and former Chairmen JCS Committee Gen Tariq Majid  and Gen Rashid Mehmood were also present.

Afghanistan's Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr Omar Zakhilwal met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ today.

Issues of mutual interest including security situation and border management were discussed. COAS expressed his grief over loss of innocent lives in recent terrorists attacks in Afghanistan.

A delegation of over two hundred young students from various educational institutions of Pakistan visited Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) today as part of ongoing  annual internship program by ISPR. Students were excited to see production potential of the defence industry. Chairman HIT, Lt Gen Naeem Ashraf interacted with the students and highlighted contributions of HIT towards self reliance in defence equipment. During the visit students showed keen interest and asked questions related to defence capabilities of Pakistan vis a vis existing and emerging security challenges.

It is difficult to align the constant U.S. mantra that Pakistan is 'not doing enough' in the war against terrorism when we take a look at just what has and continues to be done. To say that the mantra is unreasonable and extremely disappointing is an understatement.
