General Tariq Majid, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) who is on an official visit to Saudi Arabia, spent a busy day here at Riyadh, meeting with top brass of Saudi Armed Forces.
CJCSC called on Chief of General Staff, Royal Saudi Armed Forces (RSAF), HE Gen Saleh Bin Ali Al-Mohayya. Both the senior military leaders discussed security situation affecting South Asia and Middle East and ways and means to enhance bilateral cooperation between the armed forces to serve defence and security needs of the two brotherly countries. Highlighting the time tested and enduring bonds of friendship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, CJCSC underscored the importance of establishing an institutionalised mechanism for maintaining strategic linkages on regular basis between the two countries.The meeting was followed by a ceremony to confer King Abdal Aziz Al Saud Excellence Medal to General Tariq, which is the highest Military award of Royal Saudi Armed Forces. The Medal has been conferred by King Abdullah Bin Abdal Aziz Al Saud in recognition of the laudable role played by the CJCSC in bolstering mutually beneficial cooperation and
enhancement of defence ties between both the countries.
Later, General Tariq Majid also held separate meetings with Commander Royal Saudi Naval Force, HH Vice Admiral Prince Fahd Bin Abdullah Bin Mohammad Al-Saud, Commander Royal Saudi Air Force, HH Air Marshal Prince Abdul Rehman Bin Fahd Al-Faisal and Commander Royal Saudi Air Defence Force, Lieutenant General Abdul Aziz Bin Mohammad Al-Hassein to discuss service specific matters for making bilateral cooperation robust and multi dimentional.
