Reference Reuters Story on March 29 headlined" Interview-Pakistani property tycoon eyes media move to protect his name". Story alleged qutong Malik Riaz that he had some relationship with COAS. I categorically rebut such uncalled for and unfounded allegation. COAS has no relationship and no acquaintance with Malik Riaz. Reuters has also withdrawn its story due to same incorrect comment

COAS chaired a high level security meeting at GHQ today to review progress of op in Punjab to nab terrorists in the aftermath of Lahore Blast. Int agencies with Army Rangers carried out 5 ops in Lahore, Fsd and Multan since last night. Ops continue with more leads coming in. Number of suspect terrorists and facilitators arrested and huge cache of arms and ammunition recovered.

ISPR has categorically rejected the assertions that Army and ISI were backing PTI/PAT in anyway in the current political standoff. Army is an apolitical institution and has expressed its unequivocal support for democracy at numerous occasions. It is unfortunate that Army is dragged into such controversies.Integrity and unity of the Army is its strength which it upholds with pride.
