Rawalpindi - August 1, 2010: 

Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani visited flood affected areas of Nowshera and Khawazakhela yesterday.

COAS was given briefing by the local commanders on Armys rescue and relief efforts. COAS directed that every possible effort to be made to rescue and provide relief to the stranded people of flood affected areas.

Later, 17 stranded people were also evacuated to Mingora in the COASs helicopter.
