Rawalpindi - March 12, 2017: 

Gen Zubair Mahmood Hayat, CJCSC, who is on official visit to Bahrain, called on HE Field Marshall Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al  Khalifa, Comd in Chief , Bahrain Def Forces.  Upon arrival he was presented Guard of Honour. Matters related to bilateral security and def coop were discussed. Both sides agreed to further enhance coop between the two Armed Forces.

Gen Zubair Mahmood Hayat also called on PM HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

CJCSC later delivered a talk on 'Emerging geo-strat envmt and multifarious security challenges' at Royal College of Comd & Staff and Civil Def.

Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad
Rawalpindi - March 12, 2017: 

Joint search operations were conducted by Punjab Rangers, police and intelligence agencies in DG Khan, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Sialkot, Rahimyar Khan and Rajan Pur. 21 suspects apprehended including one BSN facilitator and 2 Afghanis. Weapons, ammunition and hate material recovered.

Indian unprovoked cease fire violaton along LOC  in Chirikot sector targetting civil population of Village Chaffar. A 60 years old  man and a 15 years old girl got  injured due to Indian firing. Both evacuated to civil Hospital Abbaspur. Pakistani troops effectively responded to Indian firing.

Rawalpindi - March 12, 2017: 

Pakistan Army inducts Low to Medium Altitude Air Defence System (LOMADS) LY 80 in its Air Defence System. General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), was  the chief guest at the Induction Ceremony, held at Army Auditorium.

LY-80 is a Chinese mobile Air Defence system, capable of tracking and destroying variety of aerial targets at longer ranges flying at low and medium altitude. COAS said that LY-80 LOMADS increases our response capability to  current and emerging air defence threats.

Earlier,  on arrival, COAS was received by Lieutenant General Muhammad Zahid Latif Mirza, Commander Army Air Defence Command.
