HE Mr. Furkat Sidikov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan called on General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, Chairman JCS Committee   at Joint Staff Headquarters, Rawalpindi. Matters related to bilateral security and defence cooperation between the two brotherly countries and regional security environment were discussed during the meeting.

Both sides reaffirmed the resolve to continue supporting efforts for peace and stability in the region. The Uzbek Ambassador appreciated the professionalism of Pakistan Armed Forces and sacrifices made by Pakistan in war against terrorism.

Rawalpindi - July 17, 2017: 

Weekly hotline contact between Pakistan and Indian DGsMO took place today.  DGMO Pakistan notified Pakistanís demarche to Indian DGMO to protest deliberate targeting of Pakistan Armyís vehicle resulting into Shahadat of 4 Soldiers besides injuring one soldier and a civilian passer by.

DGMO Pakistan Army, Major General Sahir Shamshad Mirza emphasized the importance of controlling tactical actions of under command troops, since these indiscretions can potentially spiral major standoffs.  Such acts have the potential to escalate which then will be extremely detrimental to peace and stability.  While we donít want to go down the path where we start choking each otherís supply lines; however, any such recurrence will invoke more strong and effective measures from Pakistanís side. DGMO Pakistan Army concluded.
